We are thrilled you stopped by to explore Melrose, Montana and its colorful past. A once thriving stop along the Utah Northern Railroad, Melrose is now a quiet little town situated along the Big Hole River where many ranchers, farmers, and families call home. Please visit the history page to learn more about Melrose, the town, the history and its people. My goal is to create a forum in which we can all learn, share, and engage in dialogue about the community and people we love, past and present. This website is dedicated to one of our own local historians, James Eighorn , who instilled a sense of community and sparked a passion and love of our area's history in everyone who had the chance to sit and talk with him.
